🎯 Learning Intention
I will present my team’s accessibility survey and explain how our design choices collect ethical, useful, and mappable data for community problem solving.
✅ Success Criteria
- I can clearly describe our survey’s purpose, data types, and design process.
- I can demonstrate how our survey aligns to the civic problem statement.
- I can reflect on what I learned about collaboration, accessibility, and leadership.
☀️ Warm-Up / Welcome (5–7 min)
“Think about what makes a good first impression when sharing a professional project. What should your audience see or hear first?”
Class discussion → establish norms: professionalism, listening, respect, and curiosity.
🟡 Special Note: Esri guest introductions and quick overview of why community mapping matters.
🧠 Mini-Lesson (10 min) — How to Present Like a Civic Technologist
- Frame: Explain your problem statement and why it matters.
- Show: Demonstrate your survey on-screen or in preview mode.
- Explain:
- What question types you used (text, choice, map, etc.)
- Why each data type helps visualize accessibility.
- Reflect: Connect one design choice to an ethical or inclusive principle.
💡 Model Slide:
“We focused on access to public libraries. Our map question helps visualize where ramps or elevators exist and where barriers might still be present.”
