🎯 Learning Intention
I will evaluate how imagery and navigation influence digital design.
✅ Success Criteria
- [ ] I can critique how images support (or distract from) content
- [ ] I can identify clear vs. confusing navigation in websites
🌍 Why this matters
Images create emotional impact, and navigation determines whether users can actually find what they need. Together, they decide if a website feels engaging or frustrating.
🔓 Warm-Up (Tech Journal • 5 min)
Prompt: Think of the last time you got lost on a website. What went wrong?
📚 Vocabulary (post to board/slide)
- Navigation — menus, links, and pathways through a site
- Sitemap — the structure of how pages are connected
- Call-to-Action (CTA) — a button or link designed to prompt an action (e.g., “Sign Up”)
- Hero Image — a large, impactful image at the top of a page
🧭 Agenda (45–50 min)
1) Mini-Lesson: Imagery & Navigation in Action (10 min)
- Show two ecommerce homepages:
- Good example: Amazon (clear nav bar, product images support content).
- Poor example: small/local ecommerce site with cluttered navigation or irrelevant images.
