Focus: Mindset Monday – Time Management & Staying Organized
Learning Intention
We are learning how to use simple time management strategies to stay organized in school and technology projects.
Success Criteria
- I can name two strategies for managing my time better in class and at home.
Why Are We Learning This?
In technology fields, deadlines are everything. Learning to manage your time now helps you avoid stress and succeed in projects, certifications, and real-world jobs.
Warm-Up (Tech Journal Prompt)
- “What is the hardest part of managing your time during school? How do you usually deal with it?”
Formative Lecture & Discussion (10 minutes)
- Quick discussion: “Where does your time go?” → common time wasters (scrolling, procrastination, forgetting deadlines).
- Mini-lesson: Introduce 2–3 strategies:
- Pomodoro Technique (work in short focused sprints).
- Prioritization (Must/Should/Could).
- Using reminders/calendars effectively.
Small Group / Independent Work (12 minutes)
- Students make a Time Map of their typical school day and identify one place to “reclaim time.”
- Share 1 strategy they’ll try this week.
