We are learning how to use basic networking commands to test and troubleshoot connectivity.

• I can explain what commands like ping, ipconfig, and tracert do, and use them to diagnose simple network issues.

Why Are We Learning This?

Before you can master advanced networking, you must understand the basic tools technicians use every day to confirm connections and isolate problems.

Warm-Up (Certification Practice)

• Sample Question:

  Which command would you use to verify if a host can reach another device across the network?

  a) ipconfig

  b) tracert

  c) ping

  d) netstat

• Answer: c, ping

Key Network+ Commands

• ping → Tests connectivity to another IP address.
