🎯 Learning Intention

We are learning what an ArcGIS StoryMap is and how it can be used to tell powerful community stories.

✅ Success Criteria

• I can explain what a StoryMap is.
• I can identify 2–3 ways StoryMaps combine data, maps, and storytelling.

💡 Why Are We Learning This?

StoryMaps allow us to take data and turn it into stories people care about. It’s how we move from raw numbers → community impact.

📝 Warm-Up (Tech Journal)

“What’s a local story in San Bernardino that deserves to be told with maps and data?”

📚 Formative Lecture

• What are StoryMaps? (Overview + Esri Academy definition)
• Walkthrough of famous examples (housing, environment, civic engagement).

✅ Check for Understanding → Quick group share: “What stood out to you from the examples?”

👩🏽‍💻 Workshop

• Students explore 2–3 published StoryMaps (links provided).
• Write down: What works? What doesn’t?
