Today I will learn how typography (fonts) affect the tone and usability of a website.

By the end of class, you should be able to:

• Identify the difference between serif, sans-serif, and decorative fonts.
• Explain how font choice affects tone (formal, playful, professional, etc.).
• Choose a font for your Google Site draft and justify your choice.

🌍 Why This Matters

Typography is more than “just a font.” It sets the tone of a website and affects how easy it is to read. Designers carefully choose fonts so their sites feel trustworthy, professional, or creative. The wrong font can make a serious site look like a joke (hello, Comic Sans 👀).

🧭 What To Do Today

1) Warm-Up (Tech Journal – 5 min)

Write a quick response:

“If your personality was a font, which one would it be and why?”

👉 Be playful here — are you Times New Roman (serious), Helvetica (clean), or Comic Sans (chaotic)?

2) Learn the Basics (10 min)

Open the handout or slides provided and read through the examples.

• Serif fonts (Times New Roman, Georgia) → formal, traditional, trustworthy.
