I know I’ve got it when my team’s Research Backbone Doc has notes in all sections (industry history, housing, history connections, and data points) with sources listed at the bottom.

Why does a Story Map need both data and story to be persuasive? Give one example of each you expect to use this week.

📚 Vocabulary

• Dataset – a structured collection of facts (tables, maps, stats).
• Operational Layer – a data layer in a web map you can interact with.
• Attribution – giving credit to where your information or images came from.

• Assign team roles: Researcher, Data Analyst, GIS Lead, Editor/PM.

🤝 Team Work Time (30 min)

• Create a Research Backbone Doc (Google Doc).
• Fill in four sections:
  1. Industry history (5–7 bullets)
  2. Housing development (5–7 bullets)
  3. U.S. History connections (3–5 bullets)
  4. Data points (at least 3 today: 1 map, 1 chart/stat, 1 story/anecdote)
