🎯 Learning Intention
Today, I will step into a mentor and design lead role, guiding juniors as they build their San Bernardino StoryMaps with maps, timelines, and a new multimedia video component.
âś… Success Criteria
I am successful when I:
- Provide at least 1 design or storytelling suggestion to a junior.
- Help juniors brainstorm and plan a video spotlight on a San Bernardino location.
- Support juniors in making their StoryMaps polished, accurate, and engaging.
📝 Mentor Focus Notes (Seniors)
1. Mentorship Role
- Ask guiding questions: “What story are you trying to tell here?”
- Coach juniors on making choices — don’t take over their project.
- Provide constructive, respectful feedback.
2. StoryMap Guidance
- Title + cover image: Does it clearly say “History of San Bernardino”?
- Timeline events: Are there at least 3–5 events, each with 2–3 sentences + an image?
- Express Map: Do pins connect to the timeline? Are they labeled clearly?
- Design: Is the StoryMap easy to read (colors, font, consistency)?
3. New Multimedia Requirement (Video)
- Juniors must embed one 30–90 sec video about a San Bernardino location.
